About

We are a thoughtfully curated fabric shop and haberdashery situated in a beautiful old woollen mill in the North Coast of Northern Ireland. Our main focus is to sell high quality dressmaking fabrics to the modern maker alongside a number of independent sewing pattern companies and businesses.

We are passionate about teaching people the techniques of sewing as well as allowing people to expand their own knowledge through our workshops. They range from an absolute beginner to more advanced skills and run at various times throughout the week in our spacious studio in the back of the shop.

As well as our workshops, we will run more sewcial events, for people to get together and sew not in a class setting. These will be relaxed and full of chat!

I’m Becs, the face behind Oh! Sew. My journey to get here was started after a chance sewing workshop that I tagged along on with my sister. It very quickly kickstarted a passion in me I didn’t expect. I could never have predicted how much it took over my life, or how much my life is better for it. I get to create clothes that not only fit but that I can guarantee no-one else at the party will be wearing!

As my knowledge grew, I started to become more and more interested in fabrics and discovering independent pattern companies something which were not available to buy in Northern Ireland. I absolutely love that I can introduce people to new fabrics and allow people to start to grow their own handmade wardrobe and hopefully fall in love with sewing as much as me.

I am so lucky that my hobby has turned into my business and am so thankful for all my lovely customers who make this all worthwhile everyday.

Oh Sew

Got some exciting news yesterday! I have been nominated in the best independent retailer in Ireland category in @sewhq British Sewing Awards and I am beyond happy about it! Thank you to anyone who voted for me to get me to this stage, it really means a lot. I know I say it a lot but i am so grateful for all the support i get and to receive this after 4 months in business is just a little ridiculous!!

If you would like to vote for me then you can send off the form that comes inside this months issue of Sew magazine or you can vote online through their website. I would obviously really appreciate it 😊. I cried a few happy tears yesterday and treated myself to a gin in the bath, the last few months have been a little overwhelming but I am loving every minute of it. @ Oh Sew
